Our History
More than a place, a living history since 1888
For over a century, the Hôtel du Chamois has watched over L'Étivaz. Founded in 1888, it has survived the ages, evolved through the generations and accompanied the life of the village as well as that of its visitors.
From a simple mountain inn to an iconic hotel in the region, the Chamois has transformed over time: expansions, renovations, new stories… without ever losing its soul. Behind its walls, decades of memories, shared meals, visits, and encounters have accumulated.
Today, we are committed to continuing this story. With respect for this heritage and looking towards the future, we are reviving the Chamois so that it remains what it has always been: a warm, authentic place deeply rooted in its territory.
